MY HEART
I could not find a rainbow,
As I looked up in the sky.
I went on tour within my heart,
And found the reason why.
My heart it looked so hardened,
And had lost it's lustrous glow.
Softness was no longer there,
Now only frost and snow.
I sat me down to take a look,
At who I had become.
Of those I felt had hurt me,
Then tallied up the sum.
I thought of those I'd slighted,
Laughed at, without a care.
All calculations added up,
I sat down in my chair.
My heart just could not take it,
In the end just no one wins.
A mean and wicked look,
And the hardening begins.
So I took a smile and wrapped it up,
With love and warm sunshine.
I spread it out to each and all,
Yes rainbows are sublime
