Adventures
at Roberta Lake (who says life aint
funny?) The funny light was rising just over the Kettle Range. Marveling at the morning like it was prearranged. With bait, rods and reels we trudge down the lake. Looked to be the day to
catch a whopping big fish cake. Friends they were a plunking along that sandy shore. This gal she stepped a few
feet to look and to explore. She threw her line way out and she settled in for fun. Behind her back the whopper
hit, and put her on the run. Her pole flew through the
air; no her legs could not
compare. If flew so fast and out of
hand went swimming without care. The gal she started praying as it sank down to the deep. But up jumps Pard with his quickest country
leap. Expertise was all was needed
to aid this damsel in
distress, A fishing lure and gentle
hand yes the gal is once more
blessed. The rod is safe in hand and a sweet memory for another
time, Yes A funny little morning to put right into rhyme. Linda LaRae Adsitt copyright1999 |
