Wife
For thirty-seven years, I've had a friend,
Who has given me happiness, no end.
She is the mother of my offspring,
Joy to both of us they do bring.
For thirty-seven years, She's been my lover,
For sure there's not much to discover.
And all this time she's been a fishing buddy,
Even though she calls all my fish "Stubby".
For thirty-seven years she's been my companion,
From the highest peak, to the deepest canyon.
She is my good reason to keep on living,
For all the love she keeps on giving.
I looked long and hard for a woman for me,
Till she found me and decided a husband I should be.
For thirty seven years of joy and strife,
Thank God Almighty for giving me such a wife.
